I don’t live in Texas. Can you still design custom patio enclosures and sun shades from Enclosure Guy?
Yes. More than 80% of the patio enclosures and sun shades we manufacture are shipped to customers all over the country. We have a large number of clients in Canada, Florida, California, Kansas, and other places in North America.
We aren’t sure if we will need to install the patio enclosures on the inside or outside walls. What is your opinion about interior and exterior installation?
We have clients that install the patio enclosures both on the inside and outside. While we believe that outside is the best, we realize that this isn’t always possible. Our design engineer will work with you to figure out the best placement of the product, which may include both inside and outside if your situation requires it.
Where do the zippers on the patio enclosures attach to the house?
Patio enclosures that are next to each other will zip to each other. Patio enclosures that are hung next to walls or posts will be zipped to our special flap closures attached to the wall or post.
Do the patio enclosures zip across the bottom?
Our engineers have determined that tie-downs are the best way to secure the bottom of your patio enclosures to a knee wall or floor. They are secured with welded, stainless-steel clips and D-rings. Enclosure Guy provides all the hardware needed for your project and includes free shipping. If you are doing the installation on your own or with a local contractor, our designer will include placement locations with your installation instructions.
What kind of warranty does Enclosure Guy include with the patio enclosures and sun shades that I buy?
Enclosure Guy warrants our curtain product line from failure in normal use due to defects in material or workmanship for a period of five years from the date of purchase. How long will the patio enclosures remain clear and work properly?
Clients typically get around 10 years of life from their patio enclosures when they are properly cared for. We offer a cleaning solution and scratch remover that will ensure years of quality use from your enclosure. Do you have a local installer for my patio enclosures and sun shades?
Outside of Texas, most folks hire a general contractor or handyman to do the install. Your patio enclosures and sun shades will come with a How-To Guide. If you need extra assistance beyond the instruction guide, you can call us, and we will gladly help you out.
How do homeowners associations normally respond to homeowners who want to install patio enclosures and sun shades?
We have found that most homeowners associations have no problems with our products since they are completely removable and, in most cases, roll up completely out of sight. In the event that your patio enclosures or sun shades can’t be hidden by your home’s natural architecture, we offer valances that will hide and protect the patio enclosures and sun shades.
Our fire marshal would like a copy of the fire rating specifications of the patio enclosures and sun shades. How can I get a copy?

Our local government has passed a smoking ban and now the only place that we can serve smokers is on our patio. Can your patio enclosures be used to create a smoking space?

Who is Enclosure Guy and how long have you been in business?
We have been in business since 1983 as Landmark Awning and Enclosures, LLC—but most people know us as Enclosure Guy. Our owner, Clint R. Oliveria, has more than 40 years of innovative design and building experience. Clint’s education comes from the highly selective Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts. After graduating from Tabor, Clint went on to the Washington County Technical College in Calais, Maine, where he studied wooden yacht design and construction.
How do I choose the correct thickness for my patio enclosure?
We offer a 20mil or 30mil option. The thickness is contingent upon the weather conditions and exposure in your region. Our sales associates will be able to help you determine which would work best for your project.
Can Enclosure Guy provide services for my structure?
If your structure has a roof or a header to attach to, then yes, we can. For clear enclosures, you would need a covered patio to seal in heat during winter months.
What type of cloth material is used for Enclosure Guy’s curtains?
We use a 20mil clear vinyl or 20mil tinted vinyl with colored vinyl border, a 30mil clear vinyl with colored vinyl border, 80/90/95 mesh shade cloth, or solid colored vinyl privacy panels.
Is Enclosure Guy rated by the Better Business Bureau?

How easy is it to install the patio enclosures and sun shades that you sell?
Everything Enclosure Guy sells is custom designed to fit in your space. Most installations are very simple and will only take a few minutes (see the video on the left for an example of our most common kind of installation). However, larger, more complicated installations may be best done by a professional. During the purchase process, this is something you can talk to your Enclosure Guy representative about.
